baas

The bosses in the mod are the core of the progression. While the bosses can be defeated in any order at any stage of the game, I recommend following an order similar to the order suggested in the boss checklist and the calamity mod wiki.

Pre-hard mode

  • king slime
  • desert plague
  • Eye of Cthulu
  • Crabulon
  • Eater of Worlds / Brain of Cthulu
  • queen bee
  • The Hive Mind / De Perforators
  • skeleton
  • slime god
  • wall of flesh

difficult mode

  • Kryogen
  • The Twins
  • Brimstone Elemental (Only lowers the stat slightly for non-melee builds until Providence is dead, and can be skipped until then)
  • The destroyer
  • water plague
  • Skeleton prime
  • bad luck
  • Appendix
  • Siren a Leviathan
  • Astrageldon slime
  • Sternengott
  • Golem
  • Plaguebringer Goliath (lowers little stat on melee, mage, and summoner builds and is skippable)
  • Herzog Fishron
  • Ravager (drops cores that are useful but otherwise have no stat loss and can be skipped)

Post-Mouth-Lord

  • Profane Guardians
  • Providence, the defiled goddess
  • Sentinels of the Devourer (order of the Sentinels doesn't matter)
  • Polterghast (can run for Sentinels)
  • Devourer of the gods
  • Hummel
  • Jungle Dragon, Yharon

Post Yharon

  • Supreme Calamitas (Optional Superboss. Mod is considered complete after defeating Yharon)

As you progress through the game you will get different armors.

Pre-hard mode

  • Wulfrum Armor (Available from the moment you spawn. Shards used in crafting are dropped on the surface by Wulfrum Slimes and Wulfrum Drones.)
  • Victide Armor (Available from the moment you spawn, though incredibly taxing. Ingots are made from Shells, Starfish and Coral, and Victory Shards. All of these drop from Cnidrion and Desert Scourge.)
  • Aerospec Armor (obtained after defeating the Hive Mind of Perforators, causing the ore to appear in your world.)
  • Statigel Armor (obtained after defeating Slime God. Made from the purified gel that Slime God dropped. Serves as the final pre-hardmode armor.)

difficult mode

  • Daedalus Armor (obtained after Cryonic Ore is created by defeating Cryogen. Until Cryogen is defeated, you can only access the vanilla hardmode armor. Note that defeating Cryogen also grants a Frost Core, which can be obtained if desired access to standard frost armor.)
  • Reaver Armor (obtained after defeating Plantera spawning Perennial Ore.)
  • Astral Armor (Available after defeating Astrum Deus in which Astral Ore becomes mineable. The armor layer can be easily skipped as it is only useful for Mages or Summoners and is similar to Reaver Armor in stats.)
  • Ataxia Armor (Gained after defeating the Golem by mining Chaotic Ore from the Abyss with a pickaxe. Serves as the final Hardmode armor set.)

Post-Mouth-Lord

  • Xeroc Armor (Obtained immediately after defeating the Moon Lord. Crafted from Melt Ingots and Luminite Ingots.
  • Dragon Armor (obtained after defeating Providence with the resulting Uelibloom Ore.)
  • Bloodflare Armor (obtained after defeating Polterghast with Bloodstone Cores and Ruinous Souls.)
  • Godslayer Armor (obtained after defeating the Devourer of Gods with Cosmilite Ingot.)
  • Silva Armor (obtained after defeating Yharon's first stage, which allows Darksun fragments to drop from Mothrons.)
  • Auric Tesla Armor (obtained after defeating Yharon in which Auric Ore appears in the world. Serves as endgame armor.)

Post Yharon

  • Demon Shadow Armor (Obtained after defeating Supreme Calamitas. Serves as bonus armor set.)

The abyss

The Abyss is a large biome that appears behind the dungeon in every world. It covers the entire height of a world (except for the little Hellstain at the very bottom) and is a source of powerful items at various points in the game. There are three main points where you have to cross the canyon.

  • The first trip should be after defeating Skeletron. At this point you should start looking for the shadow chests that appear on islands in the Abyss. The weapons that can be in range to near Cryogen.
  • The second journey would come after defeating Plantera. At this point Deep Cells and Lumenyl will be dropped by some enemies. These are used to craft some powerful weapons that can last through the rest of the hardmode.
  • The final journey should be after defeating Polterghast. This journey takes you to the bottom of the abyss where the eidolon wyrms, mowing sharks and colossal squids spawn. All this drops some great weapons that are very strong against the Devourer of Gods and can last until Yharon.

After defeating the Golem, also enter the Abyss to collect Chaotic Ore. However, this is a fairly minor incident and is therefore not considered one of the main points where you cross the abyss.

In addition to the three Abyss Plains mini-bosses, in the Sulfur Seas above the Abyss, the Mauler will drop a powerful ranged weapon once Polterghast is defeated.

I also recommend crafting the Abyssal Wetsuit, as it's incredibly useful for farming Abyss items later in the game.

weapons and accessories

There are so many weapons and attachments that I simply recommend that you check the Calamity mod wiki for information on them. I'll continue to give a brief overview of the main attachments, but below is a link to each page on the wiki for each weapon class and a list of the attachments. Sorting these pages by rarity sorts them by when they become available.

core accessories

  • Angel Treads (An upgrade for Frostspark Boots that can be crafted after defeating the mechanical bosses.)
  • Seraph Tracers (An upgrade to Angel Treads that doubles as a wing. Obtained after defeating Moon Lord.)
  • Elysian Tracers (An upgrade to Seraph Tracers. Further increases movement speed and doubles as a wing. Obtained after defeating the Devourer of Gods.)
  • Celestial Tracers (Upgraded to Elysian Tracers. Obtained after defeating Yharon. Exclusive to Revengeance mode.)
  • Counter Scarf (Provides the ability to sprint. Taking damage while sprinting performs an evasive maneuver, granting temporary invincibility and briefly boosting all melee stats. Drops from the Eye of Cthulu. Exclusive Revenge mode.)
  • The Absorber (A powerful defense accessory available from a tall crafting tree.)
  • The Sponge (A powerful defense accessory that combines the powers of the Absorber and Ambrosial Ampoule.)
  • Heart of Draedon (Greatly increases health regeneration rate while stationary and passive increases Rage meter. Excludes Revenge mode.)
  • Asgard's Valor (An upgrade to the Ankh Shield. Grants immunity to some Calamity mod debuffs, as well as increased Health and Defense.)
